UPDATE: I went back to the bakery 2 months later and informed them of what happened. They replaced the items without fuss and were very apologetic about it. Thank you!!

We bought biko ube today (6/11/24) to bring home but it has molds. Expiration date is 6/15/24 but when we opened it we were shocked by the sight. Please check your products on the shelves.

Add: Even the puto is spoiled. Please check carefully. My daughter ate one and she noticed the texture and taste was different. It’s clearly spoiled .

This place is a ube lover’s heaven!!! So much options, I tried the cheese roll and the cheese melt, both were delicious! Didn’t love the ube tart it was a little dry, but dying to go back and try everything else!!! Friendly service.

And yes I went back, again the food was amazing, I love this place so much. Highly recommend: pan de ube, pork siopao(has egg in it, the dough is soooo soft), biscoff half moon cake(better refrigerated), and GET THE TAISAN if you see it, omg the balance between the saltiness of the cheese and sweet cream cake, heavenly. Ube Oreo tres lèches was a little too sweet for me, and I have a huge sweet tooth.

After a few visits, I have tried about everything available, and I am a big fan! The items sold are appeasing to the eye and receives the highest bakery compliment possible from an Asian: not too sweet. The packaging of the items are intricate, and the service is extraordinary! The bakery appears to be family run, and the ambience shows; I definitely feel taken care of from the moment I step in, just like when you enter a relative's house. Although I'm not Filipino, I appreciate the treat selection and all the ube options as many of the treat concepts are similar across Asian countries. As a baker myself, I also know that some of the treats look easy, but can be hard to reach the perfection that has been met by Baker's Son. I surely will be returning to here again and again.

Pro tip: if you are new to the bakery, I suggest purchasing one of the dessert sampler boxes.

Finally - Great asian bakery in the city! Known for their ube desserts. Baked goods are delicious. Halo Halo (dessert) is not for everyone’s taste but worth trying. not too sweet - a lot of ingredients

Let me say firstly that I am very glad this bakery opened a location in this city. It is by far the closest you will get to the Filipino taste that I dearly miss so much.

I made two visits to this place on a Saturday. I made on visit during the midday (11am), where it had a good amount of foot traffic. The other visit was in the morning around 8am. Go during the former period as in the morning visit they were not fully stocked at the counter and no drinks were available.

Prices were ok for what you get, but the quality was there. Ignore the drinks, the pricing was outrageous on those. If you want one ask for light ice. They will try to fill the cup with ice all the way to the top. Please don't let them get away with that kind of chicanery.

There are a lot of different breads to choose from and from what I purchased, all were tasty. Here are some standouts that you should definitely get.

Cheese balls (6 for 10.50) Small yeasty buns filled with cream cheese and dusted with sharp cheese powder.

Classic queso de bola ensaymada (3.25)
Brioche bun slathered with butter spread and topped with shredded edam cheese.

Pork asdo siopao (2.99ea). These steamed buns with shredded sweet pork filling are kept in the refrigerated case. They are extremely fluffy. Also sold in packs of four.

Pork adobo pandesal (2.99) located in the case by the register. Best of the three stuffed pandesal offered.

One note: the chicken empanada was 2.75. It has a sweet shredded chicken filling with carrots and raisins.

For me it is a must try place. Assume to spend a lot of money here with offerings that you will not find in a any Pinoy bakery here, at least quality wise.

The best pinoy breads I’ve ever had!!! They are truly a gem. I’ve tried most of them but my favorite was the CHEESEBREAD and BEEF EMPANADA!it was so delicious just like the ones i had from the Philippines. The coconut rice ckes are also very delicious! Cant wait to get more!

This is the first time I had Filipino desserts and it blew my mind. I got the Halohalo, Ube oreo tres leches and Ube crinkles. Halohalo was good overall, never tried it before so I don’t have any references for it.. Ube oreo tres leches was amazing and our favorite but might be too sweet for most of people. Ube crinkles were exactly how we expected, it’s less sweet than the two before, I personally like the texture of the filling but not so fond of the texture of the outside plus sugar powder. Overall 10/10 experience highly recommend!

The first Filipino bakery we've ever been to, we were excited to try everything! We picked up various bread and of course, their famous calamansi juice and halo halo. Most of the bread we chose had ube in it, which we love. The ube cheese bread was very good. Powdered ube on top with a creamy cheese filling.

Loved their halo halo. Ube ice cream with red bean, jelly, little ice bits, coconut milk, cereal flakes, etc. It was sp refreshing on a super hot and humid day. The calamansi juice was also very refreshing. It was a bit too sweet at first but once the ice melted a bit, it was just perfect!

Overall, great bakery with lots of options to choose from. This is a must if you are in Houston!
