South of North brewing Company is a gem in South Lake Tahoe. It doesn't stand out on the strip like some of the other locations, but it is very magical the way you walk in there is all these fireplaces and the Edison lights and the cool airstream these garage doors to go into the bar. It just has this flavor and style to it that feels very relaxed fun and grateful for large gatherings. They have a great way to rent out the location and they have a full menu of pre-catered ideas and things for guests whether it's a wedding a business function a party it's a really great location. It's right next to the water and all the casinos. The party never stops there and it can hold a lot of people too over 120 people so phenomenal place and the team there is great as well. Oh also the food and drinks are phenomenal.

Neat little spot, plenty of outdoor seating, right off the CA/NV border. They have corn hole and table tennis. Most of their own beers were gone by the time we went since they said that they ran out over the summer and hadn't been able to brew more to have available (as a microbrewery that can only make 3-ish at a time) but they had plenty of guest taps to make it more of a taproom than a brewery.

I came out to Lake Tahoe in Sept 2020 and now in July 2023 and made sure to stay next to this brewery. It’s definitely my favorite. Happy hour is from 4-6pm, that means $6 pints 🍺 . They have live music on weekends. The vibe is laid back. It has a semi-enclosed outdoor space with a picket fence covered with multch. People brings their dogs. There’s an airstream in the outdoor space with a wood stage in front of it for musicians to play 🎸

This review is strictly atmosphere and drinks only. We did not get to try the food.

Blonde beer was home brewed and refreshing. Highly recommend. We also had a stout beer which wasn't too thick and had a great taste.

Lemonade was delicious and they had easy access to water and ice at the bar self service.

Their outdoor area had nice seating around a fire. There were sun shades in various areas. They had a ping pong table, plastic ace throwing and cornhole. Recommend for a nice spot.

Indoor and very nice outdoor spaces. Firepit and dog friendly picnic tables. Ping pong. All 6 beers we tasted were spot on style and well crafted. From the Kolsch to the Horchata Stout. Spice on that one was perfect.
Latest visit 9/4/2024 finds lots more seating and the beers remain possibly the best in South Lake Tahoe. Food offerings reasonable and varied!

f you're staying near Heavenly gondola or the casinos, this is a great place to grab drinks and food. They have a great selection of sandwiches, snacks, and beers!

They have both indoor and outdoor seating with fire pits and tables that could accommodate a bigger group 6-8.

Their sandwiches were delicious, and they serve them with a side of chips. They have a great selection of beers that I thought was interesting. They do have a happy hour in the afternoon before dinner.

If the place is busy, food might take awhile to come out so factor that in if you're planning to grab a bite.

Stopped here for a taste of the local brewery scene and this place did not disappoint! Awesome backyard picnic vibe with live guitar music, fire pits, bistro lights, yard games, and ample seating indoor and outdoor options. Enjoyed a 6 glass flight and soaked in the atmosphere.

The draft options were very good, some good options for everyone. Didn't try any appetizers but there are some good options. Service was super friendly too.

Had been looking forward to going to this brewery in the middle of South Lake Tahoe, and it delivered.

Went around 3pm on a Sunday for snacks and beers. Tried two beers (4 between the group). The beers were all above average — not the best I have had in Tahoe, but very good. I would highly recommend trying the amber, as I thought that one had the most complexity.

The food is counter service, you order and pick up with your drinks. It took a decent amount of time for the appetizers to be prepared. And we were not told that they would call our name over a speaker so it was a bit awkward standing and waiting. The food itself was good, not great. But we did only have snacks.

The outdoor space was awesome. The atmosphere was great with live music, cornhole and fireplaces. They did have heating lamps but none were in service while we were there.

Overall, the experience could be improved, but was pretty good and a nice place to hang out for an afternoon.
