A lovely hotel with a very rustic feel to it which I love and the small town hospitality you expect and love to see for small town Ontario 😊 both of the times I've stayed here have been great I always take the shampoo conditioner and soap bars with me when I come home since they smell amazing! My only complaint is that while the cookies are very nicely decorated they're the worst tasting cookies I've ever had... In their defense it's 50/50 with decorative cookies and taste

My work place booked a hotel room for me on December 17/18-2024. It was my second time in the hotel. I enjoyed staying here as the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s a very easy place to park our commercial vehicles in their parking lot. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable to stay in. They have a pool and hot tub. But neither time where I able to use. The hotel has a very nice breakfast bistro that is well worth it to try. The staff who run it are very friendly and quick to help with any questions or concerns. I enjoyed having breakfast there. At the front desk the staff are friendly and they have a very nice hot chocolate bar for guests to enjoy themselves. I look forward to my next stay at your hotel. Thanks for making my stay so much enjoyable again.

Nicely renovated hotel. Lots of wood, dark colors, nice details but still showing its age. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean. First time having to use a room "KEY" in a long time. Close to some fast food places. We used the room just passing through in late summer and it wasn't too busy, but I can imagine it during peak fishing and snowmobiling seasons. Did not use the pool but it looked very inviting. The complimentary breakfast was much better than first look impression. I'm sure that large dining room was once a really good restaurant at one time! If we need a night in Fort Francis again, we will definitely return here.

My experience at Copper River Inn was disappointing. While the staff were generally pleasant, the hotel has a history of closing the pool whenever hockey teams stay, which is frustrating and unfair. Guests should receive a discount for lost amenities if this is their policy. Promised perks like evening hot chocolate for the team were quietly removed, adding to a pattern of unfulfilled commitments.

The hotel enforces excessive rules, making it an unwelcoming environment for families or teams. While the rooms have been recently renovated, the workmanship is poor, with little attention to detail. The housekeeping staff were wonderful, but beyond that, the service was inconsistent.

A major issue was their misleading $200 “deposit,” which is not actually a deposit but a charge. Upon checkout, this amount remained on my receipt, which has caused accounting issues for our business. Despite requesting an updated receipt showing the return of the charge, I have yet to receive one.

Additionally, I witnessed the unfair treatment of guests. One family was initially denied a second room key because their other guest was a 12-year-old child, yet at checkout, they were accused of losing a key and threatened with a charge. The hotel also charges an extra $10 per person beyond two guests per room, which contradicts Ontario regulations. Still, as a privately owned chain, they impose their own policies—another unnecessary money grab.

I would not recommend this hotel because of the lack of transparency, restrictive policies, misleading charges, and poor service consistency, especially for families or teams. If you have other options, stay elsewhere.

Just left with our hockey team and would NEVER recommend this place. Staff and management were unbelievably rude among so many other things.||1. They did NOT honour the rate of $189/might quoted to our team when we booking - families were charged as much as $259/night. We were told that the rates change by the minute?! What?!||2. They lost our bus drivers reservation to spite having a confirmation and had us scrambling at the last minute to find a room when all hotels were booked.||3. They had told 2 families that booked online that they did NOT have a reservation for them. Unfortunately when you search for the hotel the 1st thing that pops up is a 3rd party site called Reservation Desk with the Copper River Inn hotel name and image beside it so it appears as if you are booking through the hotel itself. When I had inquired about my room they had a hard time finding my reservation but eventually found it under my phone number. Another family was not so fortunate when we arrived at the hotel. The staff Kaden was extremely rude, insisting there was no reso for them. Staring it was their problem and to find an room elsewhere! When speaking with the wife on the phone who made the reso (she was unable to attend last minute) she restated the EXACT SAME info her husband did, and lo and behold he found the reso. No apology, and was extremely rude saying “Can I go now or do you want to keep asking me questions?!” Really||4. It took almost 2 HOURS for our team to check in!! I could understand 1/2hr, but nearly 2? No!||5. They shut down the pool during our stay (apparently this is common for them to do when teams stay here), siting that it was closed for maintenance. When asked exactly what it was closed for they said they were having a difficult time with the chemical levels, but it’s a salt water pool, and all indications (look, smell of the pool room) seemed like it was completely fine, pristine actually.||6. They refused to rent one of their many meeting/conference rooms to have a team meal. 99.9% of hotels usually go out of their way to accommodate. When first asked they said they didn’t have meeting or conference rooms. Then said they did but they were all being used for storage. When we arrived there were at least 2 rooms that could have been utilized that were clearly available and not in use.||7. They would not give more than 1 or 2 keys per room, only enough for however many adults were staying.||8. Our rooms were not cleaned in the morning. I made our beds myself and had to ask to have my floor mopped, our garbages changed and for clean towels. I will say that the cleaning staff were very nice to spite the above.||9. The bathroom in one guests room reeked of an old smoke smell and another the ceiling was falling apart!||10. When one of this kids asked if he could get another towel, he was asked why he needs it? Um … to shower. The child was very honest and told the staff that another hotel let us come swimming his towel was all wet. The staff begrudgingly gave him a towel and got mad saying “You shouldn’t be taking a towel out of the hotel!” The child did have the original yet towel though.||11. When we expressed our utter disappointment and that each family would more than likely be leaving scathing reviews they said “Go ahead. Fine with us!” Who says that!!||It’s really unfortunate as the hotel itself is very cute and quaint and would have been amazing had they have been more accommodating, or just NICE at all!

Their pool is never closed they close it because they have sewage from tooms backed up and the health and safety won’t allow them to because they can’t hire anyone to maintain their disgusting sewage in those rooms next to the pool which are the money makers, so they just close the pool and allow the guests to deal with problems late on .. they also cannot pay their employees paycheques they all get returned. I have all proof of it as well it’s gross There is mould in the kitchen they serve breakfast from their bistro to guests in, in all off the fridges, freezers and storage, that’s why they can’t open the bar the health board won’t allow it. They have bed bugs with proof of not just myself but two guests as well who have recently switched hotels after a long term stay with their company. And they have some kind of beetle (roach looking but I’m not sure) underneath boxes of dry food in storage. You do not want to stay here unless you want to get sick. as well as one of the managers has made several sexual comments to younger aged woman when he’s an older male.

DO NOT RECOMMEND for a group or team of any kind. Pool does not work and was not functional for an entire weekend we were there for a hockey tournament. They continued to feed us the same line that the “chemicals were being checked” all weekend long. Hot tub also “down”. So many disappointed kids. They then were upset kids were running around - nothing else to do with no pool! Staff came around half a dozen times to ask us to keep it down - even in the middle of the day when we were not being loud. TV in the room also did not work. Bed was comfortable - so that was a plus, but don’t be fooled into paying for a hotel with a pool - this hotel doesn’t really have one! No discounts were offered to any families who specifically booked this hotel for the pool and had no access. Also - be prepared to sign the longest waiver of your life upon check-in!
