Decent boba drinks!

My sister and I had high hopes for this place because they're a pretty popular chain. For a shop with the word "boba" in its name, we expect the boba to be nearly perfect but it wasn’t very soft. To be fair, they had just opened so maybe the boba just wasn't completely ready. Their menu is pretty wide, however, and they have a good range of flavors to pick from.

* Lychee Oolong Fruit Fresca: 8/10 - light and refreshing
* Passionfruit Fresca: 6/10 - super sour
* Mango Jasmine Fresca: 8/10 - subtle mango flavor
* Boba: 7/10 - harder than we would've liked

The workers were really nice and accommodating when we asked to change our drink. They gave us a different drink that we chose and found it to be better. The shop is located near the outskirts of the shopping center and has a lot of seating.

Some drinks are better than others, but good service! 🙂

One of my favorite boba spots! It has great variety and unique drinks. The boba is a bit on the chewier side. They have plant milk options that you can sub in if you want it dairy-free, and you can choose the amount of sweetness and ice for the drinks. There are also a couple caffeine-free options.

Drinks I tried and enjoyed:
Rose Black Tea: 10/10 -- reminds me of Indian/middle eastern rose flavored ice cream and rose falooda
Thai Tea: 7/10-- can't go wrong with this classic
Ube Latte: 8/10-- delicious and sweet, also unique purple color
Soul Mate Mint Lemonade (made with Yerba Mate): 6/10-- delicious and minty

This visit the Sapin Sapin drink reminded me why I enjoy Boba Guys over other boba spots, it tastes more fresh. I recommend getting the Sapin Sapin with regular ice & letting it melt for a while bc it was very sweet. Once more of the ice melts it’s perfect! You could really taste all the listed flavors & the texture of the coconut flakes was nice. Some of the non-dairy drinks could use some work but this coconut-based one is lovely! My husband usually gets the Black Sugar Hojicha & that one is almost always great. Two visits ago I ordered a seasonal chocolate drink made with oat milk but something was so off about it. That was my first time ordering a drink that came with oat milk & it tasted like it had gone bad & the boba was really hard. Maybe it just depends on who’s working, but as a whole company Boba Guys has the right model. I appreciate that they use less junk in their offerings, hopefully they continue on that path.

My favorite boba anywhere. I've been here multiple times and it's consistently amazing. The tea and boba compliment each other well. The boba is the perfect texture. Outdoor seating but very easy to take and walk around the shopping center. Worth the price

I finally made it to Boba Guys! While exploring 2nd and PCH, I stumbled across Boba Guys. I have heard of it but had no idea it was within this shopping plaza. So I of course needed to try it out. I went with my usual, Thai Tea with Boba. The gentleman was super nice, he even complimented me on my shades. While waiting I took a gander at their outdoor seating area and I really liked the aesthetic they had going on. My drink was ready within minutes and I took my first sip. I have to be honest, I was expecting a “yum” moment. But instead, it was more of an “eh” moment for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not great. The boba however was “yum”! It tasted super fresh and soft.

I appreciate the overall mission of Boba Guys. The owners Andrew and Bin want to “fundamentally change the way people view boba, tea, and perhaps food”. I think they are well on their way.

A friend of mine has visited the location in the Bay Area, and she told me I had to try it. I loved their Thai Tea with Boba. Their boba is excellent quality with an amazing texture. The boba is not too chewy or soft. The tea is delicious, but they do not offer different sweetness levels for the Thai tea. Their Thai tea is on the sweeter side. Their other drinks are offered at varying sweetness levels 25%-100% sweetness. Next time I go I want to try their classic black milk tea.

OK, so Boba guys is my absolute favorite bubble tea from New York City, until they closed all the shops there. So I was quite delighted to come and see so many Boba guys in California. However, I was really sad to find out that they have discontinued grass jelly as a topping in their drinks, and having driven all the way to Long Beach today, I was doubly disappointed, to find out they also ran out of almond jelly. While the Matcha latte and the bubble is still good, my favorite was the bubble, plus grass jelly, plus jelly, and that is simply no longer available. Totally get it, supply chain issues, staffing issues, but that plus the raised price where a cup of bubble tea is now eight dollars before tip, I’m starting to think I might need to seek other shops sadly.

Boba Guys is pretty well known amongst boba lovers, so I was excited to pass by this stall by accident. Boba Guys has always alluded me, not having any locations in Southern California, as far as I knew (until now of course) as it's a major chain based in the Bay Area.

Finally, I got to try Boba Guys and I was not disappointed. They were quick with orders and friendly. The boba itself was great. None of our orders had anything wrong with them. I will definitely come back again when I am in the area.
